What people say about us
Honestly - Who Movers Best Isn't For
- You're optimizing purely on price. We pay our crews well because we screen hard and train them properly. That cost shows up in the quote. If lowest price is the only factor, a budget mover will fit your needs better than we will.
- You expect rude treatment of service workers to be tolerated. Our crews are skilled professionals. If a job becomes hostile, we'll end it.
- The move involves biohazard exposure or anti-sanitary conditions. Hoarder-level situations, animal-waste-saturated homes, or conditions that pose health risks to our crew aren't projects we'll quote.
We tell you this up front because we'd rather lose the booking than waste your time, or ours. If none of the above describes you, we'd love to handle your move.
Los Angeles Moving - Frequently Asked Questions

-
Is Movers Best licensed to move in Los Angeles?
Yes. We are a licensed and insured California moving company: USDOT 2930691, CA 501283, CAL-T 0191561. That covers local moves anywhere in Los Angeles County and interstate moves out of it, on our own trucks with our own crews.
-
What areas of Los Angeles does Movers Best serve?
All of Los Angeles County: the Westside from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills and Culver City, Downtown and Central LA, Hollywood and the Hills, the San Fernando Valley, the South Bay and the beach cities, and the San Gabriel Valley. Our crews dispatch from our Costa Mesa office and work Los Angeles every week.
-
How much does a local Los Angeles move cost?
Local moves are billed by the hour at one all-inclusive rate set by crew size, with a 3-hour minimum, and Monday through Thursday gets our discounted weekday rate. Because most LA moves have more than 15 minutes of driving between addresses, California’s Double Drive Time usually applies, and we show it on the quote before you book. Full price tables are on our Moving Cost page; two addresses and a few photos get you an exact number.
-
Do you handle high-rise and luxury condo moves in Los Angeles?
Yes. Downtown, Century City, and the Wilshire corridor all want a certificate of insurance naming the owner and manager, a reserved freight elevator, and a timed loading dock. We issue the COI and make the reservations before move day; it is routine for us, not an add-on you have to manage.
-
Does Movers Best handle parking permits for an LA move?
Yes. Where the city requires temporary no-parking signs to hold curb space for the truck, we arrange them as part of the plan. They take a few business days to post, so the earlier you book, the smoother the block. Where signs are not required, we still plan where the truck sits before we arrive.
-
Can you move homes in the Hollywood Hills or canyon areas?
Yes. Laurel Canyon, Beachwood, Nichols Canyon, and the Bel Air hillsides often cannot take a full-size truck. We stage the big truck below and run a smaller shuttle up the switchbacks, and that plan goes on your written quote so there are no surprises at noon on move day.
-
Does Movers Best do long-distance moves out of Los Angeles?
Yes. Our long-distance lanes run on our own trucks with straight delivery, no handoffs to another carrier: the Bay Area and Sacramento, Portland, Las Vegas and Henderson, Phoenix and Tucson, Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Austin. Every long-distance move starts with a quick video estimate and a flat written quote.
-
What happens if something gets damaged during my LA move?
You report it, ideally with photos, we open a written claim, and a named person on our claims team follows it until it is resolved. Standard carrier valuation applies unless you choose additional coverage before the move, and we explain both options when you book.
